Imagine for a moment that you are a being formed or fully created with diamond from your head to your toe. You grow up in the midst of different wrapped parcels all around you. At some stage in your life you get curious about one of the parcels and began to follow it for the purpose of keeping it for yourself, but the more you go after it, the more it eludes you. At some point you get hold of it but unable to unravel it until it slips and you continue the endless adventure of its pursuit. Finally at about the end of your life, the parcel halts and opens up and all that you find inside of it is a chunk of sand. How would you feel in the light of the fact that just dawned on you, that you spent all of your life chasing sand though you are fully diamond, and the fact that you couldn’t even realize the vanity and transiency of sand in comparism to diamond. But if you will believe it, you are even much more priceless and eternally valued than diamond. You are spirit living in an earthly life jacket called the body. You are a luminous being with the radiance of light within you. You are directly connected to the Divine Almighty creator of the universe by breath and presence irrespective of your looks, colour, nationality, religion, location or mental capacity in life. Every other thing you can see, feel and touch around you including your physical body is matter and completely earthly just like sand. Matter is in diverse shapes, sizes, colours, types, textures and is beautiful and dazzling but never satisfies the human mind. It is indeed created to be that way and we humans by technological and scientific efforts are expanding the debths and dimensions of the beauty and magnificence of matter and that’s all right and intended by the Divine in my view, to the extent of my present little understanding. Matter is magnificent, dazzling, attractive, maliable and can be magnetic to the human mind. But matter is what it is in comparism to our essence which is light and spirit.
All the material content of the earth cannot be compared to the eternal light and the spirit of the Divine within your soul. So Jesus had to ask a question that makes great meaning with requisite meditative contemplation – what shall it profit a man/woman if he or she gains the whole world of matter and loses his or her soul?
