Jesus Christ is a globally radiant/luminous name inspiring or evoking love/compassion especially among Christians practicing the true teachings of the son of man, as Jesus consistently referred to himself. Mahatma Ghandi, Walter Russel and recently Eckheart Tolle have spoken of Christ Consciousness in different wonderful ways. Ghandi particularly spoke very highly of Jesus’s teachings on love, compassion and non-violence (ahimsa), which are very high thought patterns and consciousness levels. The name Jesus Christ has left a very positive imprint on earth. But what is the resonating content of that name? The “Christ” which means “anointed” is the resonating love light potency in that name. The Christ is the eternally present love light consciousness/anointing, which dissolves the yoke of the curious tyranic mind, developed in humans thousands of years in the past and which lured humans out of the allegorical Garden of Eden, in the quest for knowledge, all in tandem? with the will of the Divine. The Christ is the eternally Omnipresent, Omnipotent and Omniscient love light energy in the here and now, which is the source of life of all living creation and is the source of creation of all “non living” things. So Jesus came as a path finder and he left an effectual template for ascending the ladder of life and achieving oneness with the Divine. In other words, he came to lead humanity back to the cradle of love and light consciousness or the allegorical Garden of Eden, which is squarely located in all humans, by virtue of the fact of alighting on the platform of humanity, and craving to be unlocked. The above is the essence of the kingdom of heaven within everyone in God’s creation. The secret place of the Most High, which is accessible by introspective seeking, knocking and praying. Introspective because it is not external, loud or noisy, but silent and radiates in stillness. The Scripture admonishes that if any person wants anything from our father in heaven, he or she should go into his closet and pray and the heavenly father which sees in secret, will bless him in the open (Mathew 6:6). The secret closet of meditation or prayer is right in the sanctuary within each individual and that is the secret place of the Most High, in which all prayers which conduce with the will of the Divine are answered. Unfortunately, rather than following the pathway found by Jesus Christ in his teachings on repentance and introspective transformation/transfiguration, he was vilified, disgraced, crucified and subsequently venerated and physically deified as automatic blanket remission of sin symbol irrespective of the magnitude of atrocities committed by the “faithful” seeking forgiveness. This is a vain permissive philosophy which breeds hypocrisy, laxity, injustice and different forms of discriminatory principles in favour of those who have accepted it, against the rest of humanity who believe that all persons should be responsible and accountable for their thoughts, expressed feelings which translate to their actions in any situation or circumstance. This is exactly what the Christian scripture intends/means when it states thus “Be not deceived, for God is not mocked, whatsoever a man/person sows, that also shall he reap (Galatians 6:7)”. The same scripture also states in the Old Testament that “no longer shall the fathers eat soured grapes and the children’s teeth are kept at edge; henceforth the soul that sinneth, shall die,” (Ezekiel 18:2). Accountability and individual responsibility for thoughts and action is a deep seated principle in African cultures, traditions, religion and philosophy. As Africans, we should pursue our original socio-cultural and spiritual enlightenment which is the pathway for an awakened consciousness of the Divine in all individuals. The Jesus Christ who preached repentance and forgiveness of sin by the Divine, the consciousness of which he had fully realized, become, translated into, and who thought his followers how to realize Divine love and light consciousness, was rejected by his people, vilified and crucified, but raised by the Divine and is now being used as a placating shied for all manner of heanous transgressions, quoting in self-justification different passages of same scriptures which as stated above aptly and amply provide for natural universal laws which cannot be over ridden and which never miss (Ezekiel 18:2; Galatians 6:7; Rev 22:12). We think it’s time for humans to heed the advice of Mahatma Ghandi to the effect that practical Christlike life will make the world a better place. This is applicable to faithfuls of all religions. That Christlike life will raise the consciousness of all humans from the mundane level to love, light Divine or cosmic consciousness; which Jesus Christ, a Divinely anointed one espoused and admonished; laying down or showing clearly the pathway for attainment of Divine anointing which leads to the kingdom of heaven within us all, rather than desperately chasing external mind-created ephemal kingdoms on earth or beyond the skies referred to as heaven above. The Divine is ever present in the here and now and abundantly willing and ready with anointing for all available and ready humans from within, irrespective of religion, location, level of intellectual attainment or colour.
